SPLICING TAPE LINE FOR RELEASE PAPERS

The value of a functional perfect splicing system for release papers

The importance of a functional efficient splice is as remarkable as the damage that a non-performing splice can cause in case of a breakdown.

The costs caused by a bad splice are substantial in addition to all the problems that this kind of accident involves to the coating plants. Only think about the cost of the machine downtime, the time needed to clean the oven, the recovery of waste and paper, the lost material and the reprogramming of daily production. In short, the attention to its construction and the use of reliable material for a splice realization must be maximum because breakages entail huge direct and indirect costs.

Especially, in those cases in which the coating plant provides a limited system for compensating the dragging tensions or it is not of latest generation, the stress on the release paper is very high, consequently the importance of a structurally resistant splice, both to tensile loads and to dragging tensions, becomes relevant.

A LONG-STANDING EXPERIENCE

The presence in this branch for over thirty years, the continuous support to hundreds of synthetic leather producers all over the world in combination with the continuous research and development of increasingly effective solutions, have allowed Rolltape selecting and producing tapes that reduce any type of risk related to the potential breakage of the splice, by modulating the type of tape offered on the basis of the product being coated, either PVC or polyurethane, depending on the operating temperatures, the weight/thickness range per square meter and also in case of special release papers (such as extremely latest-generation embossed papers).

Each tape for both top and back side of release papers has been developed with the utmost attention to the mechanical and purely chemical-functional features that allow the release of the coating material, ensuring both thermal and mechanics resistance that a coating plant could involve in PVC/PU production. This can be realized adapting the correct tape to each kind of production carried out.
